LESSON HEALTH & SAFETY PROCEDURES
We're very happy to be opening our doors again for our students to return to in-person music instruction.
To ensure the health and safety of our students and staff, the following procedures have been put into place.
PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THESE PRIOR TO YOUR STUDENT'S RETURN
Enter Easton Ave Door, Exit Rear Door
One entrance/exit. Remain in outer waiting area or in vehicle.
Enter main door. Exit through Courtyard door.
Enter main door. Exit Side door.
Once inside the teacher will lead the student to their classroom. The TEACHER will open the door and the student will step in and take their place.
When the lesson is over, the TEACHER will open the door and exit into the hall, followed by the student.
WHAT TO BRING TO LESSONS
Students must bring their own instruments, with the exception of drums and piano/keyboards.
Drummers should bring their own drumsticks.
Students should also bring any necessary peripheral items, such has;
- textbooks, folders, binders
- guitar cable
PLEASE make sure that your student understands the proper way to behave that insures the health of others.
WEARING A MASK
COUGHING/SNEEZING into your elbow
NO HORSEPLAY IN THE STUDIO
USE OF SANITIZER/HAND WASHING
RESPECTING BOUNDARIES OF TEACHER
DROP OFF/PICK UP
For the time being, there will be no waiting room access for parents, caregivers, siblings, etc. Students should enter the lobby and take one of the available seats. Your teacher will walk out to greet you and take you back to your room. When your lesson is over, your teacher will walk you to the alternate exit (see Exit/Entry by location below). Please be prompt, our staff cannot wait with your student for your return.
Students and teachers must wash or sanitize their hands before and after each lesson. Sanitizer will be available in our lobbies, but we also highly encourage students to carry their own when possible.
Social distancing standards will be upheld in our lobbies and classrooms. However, part of the learning process does include a certain amount of close quarter engagement. Teachers may need to point out something on an instrument or on a piece of sheet music. In all cases, teachers have been trained to use good judgement and maintain distance as often as possible.
SIGNS OF ILLNESS
Any student or teacher who is exhibiting signs of illness is asked to remain home. If the illness is mild, we will use remote learning to conduct any sick day lessons for both teacher and student. If the teacher is too ill, a sub will be provided. If the student is too ill, they will have 4 opportunities to schedule remote make up lessons per year.
2 - School Year
At this time masks will be required by student, parent/guardian, staff and teachers. If a student arrives without a mask, one will be supplied and $1.50 will be charged to the account on file with TLC.
Frequently used equipment and surfaces in each classroom will be wiped down between each use. In addition, each location will be thoroughly cleaned daily, with a deep cleaning taking place each week. No outside food or beverage will be permitted. Water is the only exception and students must bring their own. All water fountains have been disabled.
Since you will not have the ability to speak with your teacher daily in the classroom or lobby, we will use the Parent Portal to send you regular updates on your student's progress, homework priorities, recitals, camps and more. Please be sure that your teacher's address is added to your email contacts. Example: firstname.lastname@example.org
